Feeder Tips to Successful Creep Feeding

  1. Start the calves early–about four weeks of age. Put fresh Kent Texturized Calf Nuggets in the lip of the feeders to entice the calves into creep feeding the first few days.
  2. Put the creep feeders at the herd's "social centers" such as waterers, shaded areas, salt-mineral blocks, or lick tanks. Be sure to keep the feeder out of the mud.
  3. Set the feed flow adjustments so the creep feed is metered out evenly. This will help prevent stale and moldy feed.
  4. Keep a fresh supply of Kent PNP® Creep Supreme™ or Creep Supreme™ Mixer plus grain in the feeders at all times.
  5. Never let the feeders get empty overeating may occur when feeder is refilled.
