New Rebound Plus Formulation Improves Health & Feedlot Performance

There is no quicker way to improve a cattle operation’s profitability than to reduce calf death, sickness and medical costs concurrently with enhanced feedlot performance. Kent’s Rebound Plus Receiving Cattle program has done that in the past. Now, Kent researchers have made a breakthrough in their feed program that maintains health while significantly stimulating dry matter consumption.
The data summarized below demonstrates the dramatic improvements in calf performance via intake and health.
All three perfromance parameters were improved with the new formulation. Along with the drop in death loss in the group assigned to the new formulation, the severity and duration of the pulls were less as well. The Texas Ranch to Rail program, which monitors cattle’s initial health and subsequent feedlot performance and carcass quality, would tell us these calves on the new program would perform superiorly all the way to market and hang better quality carcasses.
